The largest market in Southeast Asia, with over 200 million Internet users, the Republic of Indonesia launched an ambitious digital plan in 2015. Objectives: standardize information within administrations, rationalize digital investments and improve access to these tools in a country with over 17,000 islands.
Ellipse Projects has been entrusted with the design and delivery of a Level 4 data center. Guaranteeing complete data protection, the facility is set to become a key element of national sovereignty over the country’s sensitive data and applications.
The project was financed by a direct loan from the French Treasury and an export credit from Société Générale guaranteed by BPI France Assurance Export.
Meeting carbon emission reduction targets requires all strategic sectors, including the ICT sector, to adapt and use environmentally-friendly practices. Eco-responsible, designed to have a low environmental impact, thanks in particular to the use of French technologies, and to guarantee a high level of security, the data center will improve digital access for the Indonesian population.
In recognition of our commitment to sustainable practices in the digital sector, the site is the first data center in Indonesia to be awarded the prestigious Greenship Platinum certification.
On 14 May 2024, Ellipse Projects awarded a second ‘Greenship Construction’ certification, this time for the energy-efficient construction of the data center, using advanced cooling systems and renewable energy sources to reduce its carbon footprint and optimise waste management.
