Nigeria has strong demographic growth (close to 3% per year), and is seeking high-quality health infrastructure to meet a number of priority challenges: access to healthcare in rural areas, the fight against infant and maternal mortality, the management of communicable diseases, etc.
The Oyo State government wanted to renovate and expand the health infrastructure in its territory. Ellipse Projects was chosen to integrate and deliver this vast project: covering the renovation, modernisation and extension of several hospitals (including the Ring Road State Hospital in Ibadan), along with maternal and child health centres and emergency treatment and trauma management.
The project is financed by a concessional loan from France to Nigeria, via the French Treasury, for €55 million.
The extensive work carried out to renovate and extend the infrastructure will significantly improve healthcare provision in the state of Oyo.
